Leaves, Leaves Falling Down...

This week it was all about Fall and it's beautiful changing leaves.  I was able to incorporate learning activities about fall into our reading, writing, science and we had so much fun creating lots of fun art projects.

Here are some pictures of all of the fall leaf fun we had.
We started by learning some new fall poems and a song.
Project 1: We cut coffee filters in to leaf shapes and then colored them with washable markers

Here are the girls leaves before we sprayed them.

Here's how they came out after we sprayed them with water.
They turned out so pretty.

Our festive front door, decorated with our leaves and my first ever wreath that I made.

I even got in the spirit and made some "leaves" for breakfast.
Project 2: The girls made their fall masterpieces, using q-tips and fall color paints.

Project 3: The girls cutout card stock leaves.  We then added fall colored acrylic paints to shaving cream and mixed them together.
We put the leaf cutouts into the mixture and this is how they turned out.

Our very own fall tree in our classroom.
We spent Friday morning at the park and the girls collected fallen leaves.

Project 4: We used the leaves to make cool leaf prints.

 Their finished project.

It was another fun week with my girls, exploring more fall fun!  I'm excited to learn about pumpkins next week and am even more excited for the weather to finally start feeling like fall.
